update!

update time!

we've been doing egg tastings of late at both Hiller's in Ann Arbor and Plum Ann Arbor and plan on being at Plum again this Sunday April 19th. we've been coming to the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market at Kerrytown on Saturdays still and will continue to do so.

as a reminder; our eggs are available at these fine, fine locations: Plum Ann Arbor, 8 of the Hiller's Market locales, Arbor Farms, Zingerman's Creamery, and The Ann Arbor People's Food Coop. our duck eggs are offered at Argus Farm Stop on Liberty and Second in Ann Arbor. and of course chicken, duck, and goose eggs are at the farmer's market. although, the goose eggs are in short supply still as they are just starting to lay again.

as far as our other offerings at both the farmer's market and Argus Farm Stop;
whole chickens,
whole duck,
 whole goose,
whole guineas,
whole Narraganset turkey,
whole broad breasted turkey,
stewing hens,
feet and necks,
chicken gizzards,
duck liver and gizzards.
and Cornish hen

I think that's all folks

SPRING!

The weather has (finally) broken. I hope. The hens are laying like gangbusters!

I'm trying something new this year. I've convinced my old batch of hens to start laying again. so last week I was showing a new Minion all the coops and went to check on that particular batch of birds and lo and behold! Eggs! not many, just a handful - maybe 20 or so. yesterday that figure was around 150! good stuff that is.
so between the newish and the oldish birds,  I collected around 460 eggs.
so you know what this means? it means that my eggs are very available in: Hillers, Arbor
Farms, The Ann Arbor Peoples Food Coop, Plum Ann Arbor, and Zingerman's Creamery.
it also means that I will have a plethora of eggs at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market this Saturday.

also I will have guinea fowl, duck, goose, two types of turkey, stewing hens, and chicken. come on by and say hi. and bye and buy.
I hope everyone gets to enjoy the weekend,
John

(now if I can only convince my ducks and geese to start laying)

warmth!

good morning campers!
spring is in the air! well, at least it isn't sub zero for a couple of days anyhow. things are starting to thaw which means soon it will be mud season. needed to order stone for the driveway but dawdled one day to many; the season load restrictions for the county are now in place which means they can only bring half as much for pretty much the price of a full load. bummer. and by the time the restriction is lifted, the drive won't be a mud pit anymore anyhow. ah well.

was slated to receive 700+ chicks last Saturday, but do to freak snowstorms out in Kansas, they couldn't ship. I hope to start getting them in near the end of this week.

also with the warmer weather I hope to see more and more of you at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
currently the menu has:
     goose
     duck
     guinea fowl
whole chicken, half chicken, 8 piece chicken, and whole chicken split in half
     breasts, wings, and legs
chicken feet, necks, gizzards, and hearts
duck feet, necks, livers gizzards, and hearts
     and stewing hens

egg update
my eggs are currently available at; plum market ann arbor, arbor farms, ann arbor people's food coop, Hiller's Markets, and Zingerman's creamery.

and starting this Saturday I should have them available at the farmer's market.
